Approximately 5 miles North of Manzanita with a beautiful, short walk down to Short Sands Beach. Short Sands provides picnic tables and BBQ pits, which makes it a great day trip for families and friends. This special spot also is a favorite among the surfing community for its forgiving waves and sandy ocean floor.
Neahkahnie Mountain provides a 3 mile hike with a very rewarding view of Manzanita, Nehalem Bay and Tillamook Bay. About a 900 feet elevation gain and a very family friendly hike. Manzanita also provides a beautiful golf course which winds through dunes, neighborhoods, a small lake and is nearly beachside. It is 2,192 yards, a par 32 and has 9 holes.
The Tillamook Cheese Factory is approximately 2 miles North of Tilamook and is the 44th largest dairy producer in the United States. At the Tillamook Cheese Factory individuals can learn about the dairy processes that date back to 1851, taste and enjoy all of the wonderful dairy products.
