A little about Sandy Kohlmoos . . .
Personal: Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, a Bend resident for the last twenty, Sandy Kohlmoos brings a unique perspective and a diversified background to Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty. She is a licensed Oregon Real Estate Broker with GRI and CRS designations.
Credo: “I try not to take myself too seriously. Instead, I try to focus on the positives in life . . . the things that make me feel happy and fulfilled. I’m precise and detail-oriented with an acute sense of propriety. I love my work!”
Education: BA in Psychology and Economics from University of Western Australia, Perth.
Background: A traveler like few others, Sandy Kohlmoos has roamed throughout Asia and the South Pacific, hitchhiked over 10,000 miles exploring Australia, studied Spanish in Guatemala, ventured to the end of the Pan American Highway in Chile, bicycled across Europe, spent six months cruising the Caribbean on a 44’ ketch, and worked for Club Mediteranee, (French West Indies, Switzerland, Mexico). She has trekked in Nepal, Patagonia, and Peru, and windsurfed in Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Australia. Her travel experiences, an egalitarian philosophy, and a near insatiable sense of curiosity enable her to, not only, relate well to her clients, but also go that extra step on their behalf. Prior to coming to Central Oregon, she lived in Lake Tahoe for almost twenty years, and started her sales career there in 1982.
Personal: An avid windsurfer, snowboarder, runner, and biker; Sandy Kohlmoos married to, and partnered with, fellow Sotheby’s broker and vagabond, John (they met in an apple orchard in Tasmania in 1974), and is the proud parent of Cassidy, an honors graduate at UC Santa Barbara, presently cteaching skiing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and Cody, tennis player at University of Montana in Missoula–now a teaching pro, splitting time between Lake Tahoe and Indian Wells. Both Cody and Cassidy attended Summit High School in Bend.

Something about John too . . .
FORMAL EDUCATION: BA from the University of California at Davis in English. In a typical juxtaposition, also started at wide receiver and lettered in football for three years; serving as captain his senior season. Stayed at Davis, earning a Secondary Teaching Credential and serving as an assistant varsity football coach (receivers).
ADVENTUROUS EDUCATION (Educational Adventures): as the self-proclaimed “existential hero,” spent the next six years roaming–overland from Kathmandu to London, throughout Southeast Asia, Australia (hitchhiking over 10,000 miles, suffering as a bricklayer’s laborer, working on a sailboat running charters on the Great Barrier Reef, and, most fortuitously, meeting the woman to whom he is married, fellow Sotheby’s broker and partner, Sandy), across Europe by bicycle; studied Spanish in Guatemala, then ventured for a year through Latin America to the end of the Pan American highway in Chile. He spent six months on a sailboat in the Caribbean, then worked three seasons with Club Mediteranee as director of tennis in the French West Indies (Guadeloupe), and Mexico (Cancun) and as a ski instructor in Switzerland (St. Moritz).
Moved to Lake Tahoe; working for five years as a USPTA certified tennis professional in summer and a PSIA-W ski instructor in winter. Advised that it was “time to grow up,” began his sales, marketing, and management career, working for the next 15 years in the windsurf and snowboard industries.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: began real estate career in 1999; managed the sales teams for one of the most progressive "new urbanist" builders in the northwest. Gained extensive experience in the planning, selling, and marketing of “mixed use” and "TOD" communities. Earned CMP, CSP, and MIRM (one of only seven in the state of Oregon) designations. In 2004, shifted focus and returned to his roots of “selling lifestyle” and working with the startups/ early development of three of Central Oregon’s most prominent destination resorts–Pronghorn, Brasada Ranch, and Tetherow. Presently partnered at Cascade Sotheby’s with Aussie wife, Sandy.
PERSONAL: an avid and talented windsurfer, snowboarder, and tennis player; a keen (but crappy) golfer. The proud parent of Cassidy–an honors graduate at UCSB, presently using her expensive education to teach skiing in Jackson Hole; and Cody—a graduate of University of Montana in Missoula, now a tennis teaching pro commuting between Lake Tahoe and the Vintage Club in Indian Wells.
