LAKE OSWEGO, OR – June, 6, 2018, on a pleasurable early summer afternoon, the Lake Oswego office of Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty provided the perfect venue for hosting international, award-winning author, Ji-li Jiang. Best known for her autobiography, Red Scarf Girl, Ji-li Jiang pens a historical memoir about her experiences during the Cultural Revolution in China.
David Henry Hwang, playwright of M. Butterfly, contributed the foreword and added, “I can only hope I would have shown the same decency and courage exhibited by Ji-li Jiang. Her actions remind me that, even under unbearable circumstances, one can still cling to love and justice. Above all, one can still hope for a happier tomorrow.”
The author signed copies of her book, as she chatted with guests about her experiences and personal inspiration. Visitors mingled, and sampled several varieties of local wine and desserts.
