Visitors to North Bend, Oregon are welcomed to the area by the splendid McCullough Bridge, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its design and cultural importance. North Bend is referred to as the northern gateway into the Bay Area. Located at the point where the Coos River goes into the Pacific Ocean, it lies along the sparkling waters of Coos Bay. On the coast to the north and south of the bay are beautiful state parks complete with hiking trails and picnic spots. The area abounds with rivers and streams that run into Coos Bay as well as a handful of freshwater lakes. The Oregon Dunes Recreation Areas to the north attracts visitors to its camping sites and recreational opportunities.
North Bend is also home to indoor shopping malls, antique stores, an Indian entertainment center, and golf resorts. Jazz lovers from all around arrive in North Bend each year for the South Coast Clambake Jazz Festival, which lasts three days.
